Former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 gubernatorial election in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, and current national chairmanship aspirant of the party, has advised the PDP not to take things for-granted as it used to be, when they were in power and now that they are on the opposing side.
Agbaje, who gave the advice when he appeared before the South-south zonal executive of the PDP in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital; promised to replicate the Catholic’s kind of life in carrying everybody along, to manage the affairs of the party, if elected as the National President.
He further advised the party to desist from any act of anointing a particular candidate against others, pointing out that his non-membership of any power block in the party would make it easier for him to clinch the chairmanship position.
According to him; “South-east and South-south are almost PDP states, but South-west which has about 7.5 million votes are neither here nor there. Our party must ensure that it gives something to South-west that will convince them to support us this time around, since they did not benefit from the last administration of PDP and are yet to benefit as expected in this present administration.”
Agbaje in the meantime, called on South-south delegates to replicate that maximum support that they gave to him during the last aborted party convention, affirming he remains the same, and has not changed as a person.
Five among the chairmanship aspirants that appeared before the South-south zonal executive presided over by the national zonal chairman, Bro. Emmanuel Ogidi include: High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Chief Bode George, Chief Uche Secondus, Mr. Jimi Agbaje and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja.
