St. Joseph Parish, Igwe of Isseke Welcome His Lordship Rev. Okeke

It was a remarkable day as the parish priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish, Isseke, Ihiala LGA, Anambra State,Very Rev. Fr. Jude Ikeokwu, parishioners, Igwe of Isseke, HRH Igwe Emma Nnabuife and his cabinet chiefs hosted the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Hillary Okeke , who was on a pastoral visit on Sunday 16th July, 2017 to the parish.

In his sermon during the mass, His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. Hillary Okeke urged the parishioners to hold on to their faith and live a life of faith in Christ Jesus.

He used the medium to inform the clergy of the parish that the system of taxing everyone for any fee has become a thing of the past that has been replaced by what is now called freewill donation.

According to Most Rev. Okeke, the freewill donation in the church allows the less privilege to participate in the activities of the church, which even pays more than taxing everyone.

He, in the meantime, advised the 161 confirmed candidates never to depart from the Catholic faith.

In his opening remarks, the vice chairman of the parish council, Sir. Kenneth Anyadiorah welcomed the presence of his Lordship Most Rev. Okeke, HRH Igwe Emma Nnabuife and
appreciated the effort of the parish priest, Very Rev. Fr. Ikeokwu and other past parish priests for their contributions towards the success of the parish.

Giving his vote of thanks, Very Rev. Fr. Jude Ikeokwu, thanked His Lordship Rev. Okeke, HRH Igwe Nnabuife and those that contributed in one way or the other for the growth of the church.
