The State Commandant of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Rivers State Command, Mr. Mambo T. Wilcox has vowed to continue to use his over 8,000 men and officers of the Command located in all the 23 LGA’s of the State to support the State government’s effort to nip insecurity in the bud.

Wilcox, who made the disclosure shortly after the decoration of some of his Officers at the Command’s secretariat, said his men will continue to do their best in supporting other security agencies in the State to fight crime in all nooks and crannies of the State.

The Commandant who charged the newly decorated Officers, particularly Hon. Kenneth Ahame, who is now the State Crime Officer of the Command, urged him to make good use of the position for the Command and the state at large.

Speaking with National Momentum, Hon. Kenneth Ahame said the position will spur him to do more, particularly in his home land, Etche, where he has held several positions in ensuring peace and unity in the area.

He lauded the State Commandant for his selfless service in managing the affairs of the Command over the years, without state government’s support. The duo of Ahame and Mr. Azonwu Prince Opurum, also commended the governor of Rivers State, Chief Barr. Ezebunwo, Nyesom Wike, for his stride in fighting kidnapping, cultism and other social vices in the State.

They further urged the State government to support VGN in order to quickly achieve its desire of a peaceful Rivers State.
