The Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has expressed confidence that the Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is committed to making Imo State a model city, despite the biting economic downturn.
The Chief of Staff made this known during a media tour to some project sites within Owerri municipal and environs.
It was observed while conducting the media round, that Imo State has turned to a big time construction site with many projects aimed at turning Owerri to a model city.
Some of the project sites visited during the tour include:
Concord Hotel road tunnel, by Port Harcourt road; Umuguma-hospital road junction to World Bank roundabout, Umuguma-housing road and works layout road, with quality drainages.
Others are the near completed flyover at Ugwu Orji, the Chukwuma Nwoha road by Imo State University, Owerri amongst others.
Speaking further, the Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu commended the award winning Governor of Imo State in his determination to the move the State to a greater height.
It would be observed that the governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has demonstrated and shown that Imo State has what it takes to be one of the rich tourist States in the federation.
According to the Chief of Staff, the government of Imo State despite the huge set back as a result of economic downturn will never shy away from her responsibility to better the lot of Imolites, irrespective of the fruitless attacks and distractions from the opposition.
He, in the meantime called on all Imolites both home and abroad to join hands with the government in other to move the State forward.
According to him “Imo State belongs to all of us and it should be our collective responsibility to make our State meet up with our aspiration and yearnings,
Chief Nwosu assured that the Government of Imo State under the visionary leadership of Okorocha will never work on opposite direction to the wheels of progress of the State, he a noted.
