…Pledges To Partner Igbo Journalists Forum
The activities of Igbo Journalists Forum (IJF) in Rivers State may have received a boost, with the Founder and General Overseer of Adoration Family Ministries International, Apostle Barr., Phil Okunerere pledging to partner the Group in its bid to reposition the Igbo nation.
The Clergyman made the declaration when members of IJF paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Oyigbo, Rivers State. The man of God who could not hide his feelings, was categorical that he will give all necessary support to the Forum to enable it achieve its objectives.
“I am proud to be an Igbo man and will always identify with anything Igbo. Nobody can choose where he is coming from. Only God can determine where you come from, therefore I will do everything possible to support this group,” he assured.
The Cleric thanked the delegation for coming, describing the visit as an honour, especially as it is coming from his people (Igbos). “It is always a thing of joy if you are honoured by your people,” Apostle Okunerere emphasized. He expressed confidence that as IJF continues to project and bring the Igbos together in its reportage, even the clergy of Igbo extraction will throw their weight behind the body.
He urged IJF and the media in general to continue to live up to their responsibility in information dissemination, especially as it concerns the Igbo nation.
Earlier the Leader of the delegation and the National President of the Igbo Journalists Forum, Mr Isaac Mbah had congratulated the man of God for his exploits in his ecclesiastic duties, as well as philanthropy. He informed the Clergyman that his group will stop at nothing to showcasing the positive deeds of Igbo sons and daughters across the country and beyond through publicity.
The IJF President however, identified finance as a major obstacle confronting his group from achieving its set target. He thanked the Apostle for receiving them and prayed that God will continue to support him in his ministry.
